I've used this sarsaparilla root to make hot tea. I let it seep in hot water for 3-5 minutes and then add a dash of honey. The sarsaparilla tea alone has a sweet and bitter sort of flavor. Maybe it's a bit like licorice. So much for conveying what it tastes like, but it is a nice comforting tea to enjoy. The sarsaparilla root is suppose to have some health benefits based on the internet searches I've done. The important thing is that this version of sarsaparilla root is free from safrole, which is banned by the FDA. I really like this tea and plan on trying to blend it some other ingredients just for the fun of it.
I needed to use a little more than black tea, and stepped a little longer as well. This root beer similar flavor is naturally sweet (ish) and personally I like the flavor... Good quality and lots of it.
I have never tried sarsaparilla tea but have been intrigued to try due to its reported health benefits. I have only had one cup so far and in a normal sized ceramic coffee cup -so, about 8 oz-I used a teaspoon of this loose tea. This amount, for me, was very mild and will need to make it stronger next time. What I could taste was not unpleasant. Best of all, I have had no stomach upset from this sarsaparilla root. I was concerned about this as some other organic teas I have tried have really upset it. The open bag has a pleasant smell to it. I love that the bag is resealable. I can’t wait to fit this into my routine so I can see if I can reap the benefits of sarsaparilla.
The gemmest gem in herbal teas. First and foremost, the taste is simply divine. The earthy, slightly sweet flavor profile is incredibly soothing, making it a delightful beverage to enjoy any time of day. But beyond its delicious taste, the quality of this tea is exceptional. Sourced from organic Mexican sarsaparilla roots, you can truly taste the purity and freshness with each sip. What's more, I've noticed some wonderful effects after incorporating this tea into my routine. It's been great for supporting digestion and overall gut health, leaving me feeling rejuvenated and balanced. Plus, its natural diuretic properties have been helpful for maintaining fluid balance and reducing bloating. Overall, if you're looking for a delicious and high-quality herbal tea that offers both taste and wellness benefits, this tea is definitely worth a try!
Use it to make tea or cold brew it with a neutral spirit to add a sarsaparilla kick. Works great with vodka and rum. Also use it with store bought or home brewed mead.
